Kruger Park Accommodation

UmSisi House is a recently refurbished Lowveld country house inviting you to be 'At Home in Africa' in a beautiful and totally private setting with your friends and family. We offer an exclusive-use, luxury accommodation solution for private groups of between 4 and 10 people looking to explore South Africa's Kruger Lowveld region.

Set in 60 hectares of pristine bush, within the Jock of the Bushveld Conservancy, umSisi House is strategically located in the Peebles Valley between the town of White River and the Numbi Gate entrance to the southern Kruger Park (15 minutes away). umSisi House is the perfect destination for small groups wishing to visit the Kruger National Park, the Panorama Route and enjoy the many adventure activities available in the immediate area.

umSisi House sleeps six people in three ensuite bedrooms. For larger groups we can accommodate an additional four people in our cottage which is just 50 meters away from the house. We require a minimum of 4 people for two nights to process a booking at umSisi House. We offer a choice of rates to include dinner, bed and breakfast and full board (all inclusive) as well as bespoke menus to ensure that the dining experience is one of the highlights of your stay.

Our luxury accommodation rivals that of any hotel, lodge or guest house in the Kruger Lowveld region. The design and decor of umSisi House is stylishly African; a combination of classic English and contemporary African chic with an international flair to meet the expectations of a well-travelled clientele. At umSisi House we offer a personal service that only a very small, privately owned and managed, five-star, luxury country house can provide. A stay at umSisi is all about the small touches from the special 'pieces' positioned throughout the house to our attention to detail and care for our guests while they are with us.

umSisi House is so much more than just another safari destination! Here we focus on promoting the Lowveld lifestyle - the weather, the beauty, the proximity to nature and the wonderful ambience of Africa itself. The umSisi House experience has been created to offer exceptional comfort, all modern amenities, outstanding home-cooked meals boasting local seasonal produce, access to community projects, beautiful rock gardens, 10 kilometres of mountain hiking trails, endless grounds and the chance to explore secret hideaways. Because we want to ensure that your visit to South Africa's Kruger Lowveld region is one you will always remember.

Kruger Safaris

umSisi House is located only 15 minutes drive from Numbi Gate – the first, and most appealing entrance into the Kruger National Park. Numbi Gate is located in the south-western section of the park and its higher altitude provides a sweeping vista over the Lowveld to the east and granite foothills to the north and south. This is a high rainfall area allowing for a particularly high diversity of plant and animal species.

Kruger is the best-known game reserve in Africa. The park draws over a million visitors a year and the area hosts tremendous bio-diversity including 147 species of mammals, 507 bird species, 114 reptile species, 34 amphibian species, 49 fish species and approximately 336 tree species within 4,5 million acres (2 million hectares) of natural bush - an area that could easily accommodate Wales. The Kruger National Park was proclaimed in 1926 with Numbi Gate as the official entrance charging an admittance fee of £1!

We are delighted to be able to offer a safari solution for the entire family (regardless of age) that allows you to enjoy the Kruger National Park on a series of day trips while still returning to the privacy and comfort of your exclusive accommodation at the end of each day. umSisi House offers you wonderful access to the Kruger National Park coupled with the added privilege of exclusivity and privacy while 'At Home in Africa' with us.

We have teamed up with local operators, and their experienced guides, to provide you with the option of exploring the Kruger in an open game viewer should you not wish to self-drive. These vehicles are hired on a daily basis and the guides are trained to identify everything from the smallest dung beetle to the great African Elephant. Due to our close proximity to the park, you have the choice of joining a scheduled safari departing from and returning to Hazyview or organising a private game-viewing vehicle for your party departing from and returning to umSisi House. Please contact us for rates.
