On the 1st of October, the South African government opened up the airspace for travellers from the African continent along with those from countries outside Africa that have low COVID-19 infection and transmission rates. While we have loved having our local South African guests back at umSisi House, we are very excited at the real possibility of welcoming back guests from across the world. Things are starting to look up!
With the days beginning to lengthen and the temperatures slowly rising, the timing could not be better. So, we hope you haven’t given up on your dream of a Big 5 safari in the famous Kruger National Park! We know that travel, whether locally, regionally or internationally, has changed forever, but there are many experiences in South Africa that have not. And you can enjoy these from the privacy and protection of your private villa near Kruger.
And now, we have some exciting news of our very own to share too. Thanks to the new and returning guests that paid umSisi House a visit over the course of last year and then also gave us exceptional reviews on Tripadvisor, we were recently awarded a Travellers’ Choice Award (TCA).
Winners in the 2020 TCA’s have been calculated based on the quality and quantity of the millions of reviews, opinions and ratings collected on Tripadvisor prior to the pandemic. Not only are there over 8.7 million businesses listed on Tripadvisor, umSisi House is considered a ‘speciality lodging’ which means we have far fewer guests to leave reviews as a villa is used exclusively by private groups. So you can imagine how very proud we have felt to receive this coveted award, which means we now sit within the top 10% of accommodation establishments in the world!
If you take a look at the umSisi House listing on Tripadvisor, you will see that we are now ranked number one of 26 speciality lodgings in the White River region, with a five-star rating for all categories, namely location, cleanliness, service and value. We are incredibly honoured as this corner of the Mpumalanga Province is home to many beautiful lodges and hotels.
