Booking Process at umSisi House
In order to guarantee a seamless booking process, umSisi House has partnered with Nightsbridge to bring you an instant availability booking system. Both umSisi House and umSisi Cottage have their own availability calendars (see above).
You can check availability for either property by scrolling through the months and days ahead using the forward arrows. umSisi House displays a minimum rate for the first 4 guests during school holiday periods and a minimum rate for the first 2 guests the rest of the time. umSisi Cottage displays a minimum rate for the first 2 guests. These are not per person per night rates. We then offer a separate rate per extra adult and child per night at both properties. It makes sense when you try to book!
If you are looking to book umSisi House for groups larger than 6 (up to 10 maximum), please enquire with umSisi House directly as the Nightsbridge platform does not allow you to book online for groups larger than 6. You can always check availability by looking at both properties before filling in the contact form below!
Please note that self-catering guests at umSisi Cottage do not have access to the swimming pool and grounds at umSisi House.
COVID-19 - What you can expect when staying with us at umSisi House:
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted us all and we hope this finds you safe and well. This section will highlight how it will affect your stay with us. If you require any more information please contact us directly. This page will be updated as and when things change. However, please remember that we are a private villa offering an exclusive-use accommodation option. You will therefore not be sharing the property with other guests.
We have always strived to keep umSisi House as immaculate as possible, and this will not change. All high touch areas will be santisised throughout the day. Bedrooms will be prepared with freshly laundered (over 60°c) bedding and towels. In room toiletries, will be provided upon check in so you can be assured that they are new to you. Extra blankets, pillows, hairdryers, hot water bottles etc will be available upon request. So we apologise if the bedrooms look a little bare. We hope that you understand that these regulations are required in order for you to help us to keep safe and therefore keep umSisi House open.
UPON CHECK IN - We will need to take your temperature on arrival and log the information onto the guest registration and screening form. Hand sanitiser is available at the entrance to the house and you will be invited to use it at check in and as you move backwards and forwards throughout the house. We ask that you please handle your own luggage on arrival and place it directly into your bedrooms. We will of course offer assistance if you are unable to do this yourself! You will then need to complete the guest registration and screening form while enjoying a welcome drink.
UPON CHECK OUT - We request that you open all windows in the bedroom before breakfast, so that the room is adequately aired before the staff arrive to strip the bedrooms. You will be asked to move your own luggage to your vehicle. We will then have to take your temperature again and complete the screening part of the registration form.
CHECK IN TIME - will not be available before 3pm. This is to ensure your room has been adequately cleaned, sanitised and aired before your arrival. If you wish to check in before this time, then we suggest you book the house from the night before and then you will be able to check straight in at an earlier hour.
CHECK OUT TIME - will be no later than 11am.
COVID-19 Policy:
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic bringing most establishments to the brink of closure we have had to introduce the following COVID-19 Policy. Please read carefully BEFORE you confirm a booking as we will assume you fully understand and agree to this policy when you make your booking. We have tried to make the policy as clear and as up front as possible. Please only book with us if you agree to the policy. This policy is subject to change without prior notice and covers all outstanding and future bookings.
- Bookings that are paid in full can be postponed up to 28 calendar days before travel if the guest is unable to travel due to a positive COVID-19 test result requiring quarantine or because of Government travel restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Proof of these restrictions or test results will need to be supplied and cover the dates of your stay.
- Bookings that are paid in full can be moved by up to 15 months from original date of travel.
- Any bookings that have been postponed, but have not paid their balance or confirmed new dates within this 15-month window, will be deemed to have expired.
- The booking value of the existing booking is reserved for the new booking. Any changes to the original booking, increase in rates or seasonal surcharges will be applied in line with published rates.
- Our payment terms remain the same and balance payments will need to be made in a timely manner as per original booking dates.
- Please note that only one postponement to travel dates may be made free of charge. In cases where a second postponement is requested, then balance payments must be paid in full to facilitate the request (this applies to bookings that were postponed in 2020 and still have outstanding balances payable as this is now mandatory in 2021 moving forwards).
- A 10% administration fee on the full published (rack) rate value of any bookings postponed for a second time will be applied. This is payable to umSisi House directly (a month prior to guest arrival) and not subject to commission in the case of agent bookings.
- All postponements are done subject to property availability.
- Guests wishing to cancel direct bookings outright with umSisi House due to the COVID-19 pandemic will be required to claim a refund from their travel insurance. Alternatively, they can gift the total value of their booking to friends or family members who will be governed by the same policy.
- Agents wishing to cancel bookings outright with umSisi House due to the COVID-19 pandemic will be issued with a credit note for the value of the booking to be redeemed within a 15 month period.
- All new bookings are required to pay a 50% deposit with the balance payable a month prior to arrival.
- Our standard Terms and Conditions including cancellation fees (link above) do not cover any bookings affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
