umSisi House is the result of many years hard work by owners, Paddy and Amanda Bond Gunning, whose vision for the perfect villa-holiday experience came to fruition when umSisi House first opened its doors in March 2010.
Since then, umSisi House has mastered all aspects of our guest offerings. Whether you are a first-time or returning guest, here are 12 things you should know about our private group accommodation in South Africa’s Kruger Lowveld Region:
- We are an exclusive-use, private villa as opposed to a lodge or hotel. This means that groups of up to 10 people are invited to join us ‘’At Home in Africa’’ for a completely bespoke stay.
- At 750m above sea level, we are malaria free at umSisi House, while the greater Kruger National Park and those properties situated within it are often not.
- Our reputation as a gourmet getaway serving Afro-fusion food has grown both locally and globally over the last 10 years. We love what we do and so will you!

© Genesis Room - We happily cater for special dietary requirements such as vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and any food allergies which we have been delivering to very satisfied guests!
- Our dishes are made with fresh produce from our organic vegetable garden, where you will find a range of beautiful vegetables, fruits and herbs.
- We are one of the most environmentally sustainable properties in the Kruger Lowveld region. We recycle everything; make use of solar geysers and full LED lighting; and use our own springs, compost and natural grey water system.
- This means that when the rest of the area loses electricity due to power outages and load shedding doesn’t faze us.
- We run our Longer Stay Special offer throughout the low season. You just have to ask!
